Can AI run social media posting across five platforms?

LumberyardAI Social Media Producer
Short answer

It can run the middle of the pipeline — transcription, platform-specific captions in each brand’s voice, hashtags by rule, scheduling and publishing — and hand you one approval screen instead of five apps. For a three-brand media operation that is about 16 staff hours a month and roughly $7,650 a year in combined labor and software. Humans still approve every post.

The situation

A multi-brand media operation publishing across three brands. Video was getting produced and approved without much friction. Getting it posted was the problem.

Every single post meant an employee bouncing between five applications: pull the video, generate a transcript somewhere, write a caption for LinkedIn, rewrite it for Instagram, rewrite it again for TikTok, find the right hashtag set for that brand, load it into a scheduling tool, and then check three days later whether it actually went out.

None of that is hard. All of it is tedious, and tedium is what quietly caps how much a small team can publish.

What we built

Lumberyard connects the whole pipeline end to end:

  • An approved video automatically becomes a transcript.
  • The transcript becomes platform-specific captions in each brand’s voice — LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube Shorts, TikTok — with the right hashtags applied by rule rather than by memory.
  • The team gets one approval screen with bulk scheduling.
  • Posts publish directly through the CRM, so the record of what went out lives where the rest of the customer data lives.
  • Failures explain themselves in plain English with one-click retry — not a red icon with an error code.
  • Real performance numbers flow back in automatically.

It also replaced a paid scheduling tool outright, which is where part of the annual saving comes from.

What it produced

ResultWhat it was
~16 hrs/moStaff time saved at current publishing volume.
5 platformsPublished from one approval screen, in three distinct brand voices.
~$7,650/yrEstimated combined labor and software savings, including the retired scheduling tool.

The plain-English failure messages are worth more than they sound. In the old setup, a post that failed to publish was usually discovered days later by someone noticing it was not there. Now the failure names itself and offers a retry, which means the failure costs a minute instead of a week.

Straight talk

Humans approve every post before it goes live. The automation is the middle of the pipeline, not the judgment at either end.

It does not decide what to make. Lumberyard has no opinion about whether the video is any good or whether the topic is right. Those are the decisions that actually determine whether the channel works.

The savings scale with volume. At sixteen hours a month, this is worth building. At two posts a month it is not, and a scheduling tool and twenty minutes is the correct answer.

Where this pattern fits

Any operation publishing the same underlying content in several places, in several voices. Multi-brand groups, franchises, agencies posting for clients, and media businesses. Also any business where a genuinely skilled person is spending hours a week on copy-paste work between apps that do not talk to each other.

It fits badly if the bottleneck is producing the content rather than distributing it. This build starts at the point where an approved asset exists.
